We kicked off our summer with swim lessons this week! Lily and Bear took a private lesson together each evening this week! Lily took lessons last year and was able to quickly pick up from where she left off last summer! We're proud of Bear too - I didn't expect for him to learn to swim this week, but he made good progress with putting his face in the water and becoming a little more confident.
Lily testing the water out - it was pretty cold! It had gotten really warm in early May when I scheduled lessons. Then, we had a cold snap the week before! Luckily, the temperature warmed up for our lessons, but boy was the water still cool!

Jordan, our swim instructor, wanted Lily to be able to swim across the deep end by Friday. On Friday, she and Lily headed to the deep side of the pool. It took a while to coax Lily in - we've drilled it in her head for so long to stay on the shallow side of the ropes that she was bit scared of the deep water.
She didn't want to jump off of the diving board, but was finally willing to jump off of the side of the pool to Jordan.
And she's off...
So proud of her!! She's actually swam across the deep end a few times now. We spent some time at the pool on Saturday and several times she asked to go swim in the deep end.
I didn't get any pictures of Bear in action, as to not to distract him - we are having a bit of trouble with listening right now :). Here he is snuggled up in his towel after finishing his last turn! I just love those big brown eyes! As much as he can frustrate me at times, looks like this just melt my heart!!
